There have been a lot of mean things said about Nick Cohen in the blogosphere in recent years, mainly due to his spectacular flip-flopping over the Iraq war, and to a lesser extent his despair over Kate Winslet having parking tickets foisted on her simply for parking illegally in Islington. So it’s enjoyable to read something I agree with him over for a change.
The only problem with this article, along with a recent one, is that he seems to think that this sort of government sponsored sectarianism is a recent thing, when the reality has been that this sort of non-pork-barrelling has been with us since at least the early 80s.
